Johannesburg: Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar met counterparts from Brazil, Singapore and other countries on Thursday during the ongoing G20 summit in Johannesburg, South Africa. During this time, he discussed the methods of promoting bilateral relations in addition to global developments with the leaders. Jaishankar is in Johannesburg on a two-day visit to South Africa to attend a meeting of Foreign Ministers of G-20 countries.
Jaishankar met Singapore Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan and Brazil Foreign Minister Mauro Viera on the sidelines of the G20 meeting. He then posted on ‘X’, “There is always a good conversation with Singapore Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, this time it was on the side of the G20 Foreign Ministers’ meeting in Johannesburg. Discussed measures to pursue the world status and bilateral relations. ”
Talk with Brazil Minister Viera also
External Affairs Minister Jaishankar said that he discussed bilateral relations, global developments with his Brazilian counterpart Viera and the works of both countries under the BRICS headed by G20 and Brazil. The Brazilian government announced last week that the next BRICS summit would be held at Rio de Janeiro on July six-seven. The BRICS formed in 2009 is the only major international group, which is not a part of the US. Members of the BRICS include Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). (Language)
