Guyana gave full support for India’s fight against terrorism

Guyana Vice President Bharat Jagdev and Prime Minister Mark Philips have reiterated the unwavering support of their country in India’s fight against terrorism, as an all -party parliamentary delegation led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor met him to convey India’s situation on the issue.

The delegation discussed India’s position on Pahalgam, Operation Sindoor and Indus Water Treaty in detail and underlined India’s firm policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism.”

It said, “The Hon’ble Vice President reiterated Guyana’s unwavering support in India’s fight against terrorism.”

Tharoor said in a post on X that the delegation had a “excellent meeting” with Jagdev at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

He said, “In addition to expressing deep sympathy and understanding to India’s concerns in view of recent events, our conversation also discussed Guyana’s record of 30% annual economic growth and development plans after the discovery of oil and gas.”

Tharoor said, “A large number of opportunities were mentioned for Indian companies in areas ranging from agriculture to telecom, banking and highway development. Guyana also lacks workers and will also welcome Indian workers.”

Prime Minister Philips hosted the Indian all -party parliamentary delegation at Berbis on the eve of Guyana’s 59th Independence Day.

It said, “Many issues related to India-Guyana cooperation were discussed in the discussion. The Indian delegation informed the Hon’ble Prime Minister about Operation Sindoor and the zero tolerance policy towards terrorism.
