Hamas handed over the bodies of 4 hostages to the Red Cross
Khan Younis (Gaza Patti): Hamas handed over the dead bodies of four bodies to the Red Cross on Thursday, in exchange for Israel’s release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners, a few days before the end of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement at Gaza Patti. A Israeli security officer confirmed that Hamas has handed over the bodies of the hostages to the Red Cross.
Identification process started
Israel said that the coffins were transported through the Israeli boundary with the help of Egyptian mediators and the process of identity has started. When Hamas handed over the bodies of the hostages, almost the same time the convoy of the Red Cross was released from Israel’s offer with several dozen Palestinian prisoners released.
Israel stopped prisoners’ release
Earlier, more than 600 Palestinian prisoners were to be released by Israel on Saturday, but he said that the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners would not be done “until the hostage in Gaza and the release of the people is ensured and the hostage hand over to the hostages is not closed”.
What did Hamas do?
In fact, five of the six hostages released on Saturday were brought to the stage in front of the crowd after which they were released. This method has been condemned by the United Nations and other organizations. Hamas described the delay in release of Palestinian prisoners as a serious violation of the ceasefire and said that the second phase of talks are not possible until the Palestinians are released.
’33 hostage in exchange for 2,000 Palestinian prisoners’
The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Wednesday that no program would be held during the handing of the bodies of hostages this time. With this exchange, the responsibilities of both sides will be fulfilled under the first phase of the ceasefire. In the first phase, Hamas returned 33 hostages in exchange for about 2,000 Palestinian prisoners, including eight bodies. (AP)
