Dir al-Balah: Hamas has handed over the Israeli female soldier Egam Berger held hostage to the red cross in Gaza. He was released on Thursday under the ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel on January 19. The aim of the ceasefire agreement is to end the destructive war between Israel and Hamas. At the moment, both of them are seen moving forward on the ceasefire agreement.

What did the Israeli army say?

The Israeli army has also said that it has found a female soldier handed over to Red Cross by Hamas. A total of 33 Israeli hostages and around 2,000 Palestinian prisoners are to be released in the first six weeks of the agreement. Israel has said that it has received information from Hamas that eight of them have died.

Israel’s big step

Meanwhile, let us also tell here that, Israel has allowed Palestinians to return to the northern region of Gaza Strip for the first time when the ceasefire was implemented after 15 months of battle with Hamas. The northern region of the Gaza Strip has been badly destroyed due to the war. Thousands of Palestinians, who have been waiting to return to their area for several days after getting permission, are returning to the north.

The war started like this

Let me tell you, the war between Israel and Hamas started on 7 October 2023, when Hamas fighters attacked Southern Israel and killed 1200 people and took over 250 people hostage. In response, Israel started a military campaign, in which more than 47000 people have been killed according to Gaza medical officials.
