Beijing: The tension between India and China for 4 years has now reduced to a great extent. The special thing is that China is busy strengthening its relationship with India in the changing global environment. In such a situation, once again the old slogan of Hindi-Chinese brother-brother seems to be alive. Last year, bilateral talks between PM Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping at Rio de Janeiro have melted the frozen snow on the relationship between the two countries. Also, this meeting has now prepared a new foundation of peace and harmony.
Senior Indian diplomat Gauranglal Das, who is leading the Indian delegation in a coordination and coordination work mechanism (WMC) talks on China-India border affairs, met Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Hong Lei and exchange of ideas on the relationship and border situation between the two countries. Gauranglal Das, Joint Secretary (East Asia) in the Ministry of External Affairs, led the Indian delegation at the WMCC’s 33rd meeting on Tuesday and later met Hong.
Chinese Foreign Ministry released a statement
A press release issued by China’s Foreign Ministry said that the two sides exchanged ideas on mutual relations, border status between the two countries and other issues. India and China on Tuesday organized a new version of diplomatic dialogue in Beijing, focusing on ensuring effective border management and quickly restoring cross-border cooperation and exchange, including rivers and Kailash-Mansarovar Yatra. In the WMCC meeting, the two sides considered various measures and proposals to make the decisions taken effective during the conversation between National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi at the Special Representative (SR) level talks in December.
Another meeting will be held in India-China
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, India and China also agreed to work together for “adequate preparation” for the next special representative meeting to be held in India later this year. It said that the meeting took place in “positive and creative” environment and both sides reviewed the “comprehensive” of the situation on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the border areas. The Ministry of External Affairs stressed that peace and stability on the border for smooth development of overall bilateral relations is “important”. A statement issued by China’s Foreign Ministry said that the two sides held the WMCC meeting with “positive, creative and visionary” trend.
Talk on border security and cooperation
It was stated by China that the discussion was focused on the implementation of border negotiations, border control, cross-border exchange and consent on cooperation in the 23rd SR talks. According to the statement, the two sides agreed to take practical and effective steps to maintain peace and stability in the China-India border region and actively prepare for the next 24th meeting of special representatives on the China-India border issue.
