Top commander Naeem Qasim was broadcast a speech in Hizbullah’s television channel in which Qasim addressed his supporters. Kasim took over the extremist organization after Hizbullah’s top commander Hasan Nasralla, his successor Hashem Safidin and other top leaders were killed in the Israeli air strikes last year.
Qasim said that Hizbullah followed his commitments related to the ceasefire agreement in the US arbitration, which stopped the struggle between Israel and Hizbullah in October 2023.
Since the ceasefire agreement came into force in late November last year, the Israeli airstrikes have killed several people, including common citizens and members of Hizbullah in Lebanon. Israel says that he is targeting Hizbullah’s locations in the southern Lebanon.
America’s Deputy Special Envoy for West Asia, Morgan Ortagas, visited Beirut last week and called upon the Lebanon government to establish control over the border of Israel, south of the Litany River but also to the entire region.
Qasim said in his address, “We will not allow anyone to remove Hizbullah’s weapons.” These weapons gave life to our people and gave freedom. ‘
Qasim said this a few hours after two people were killed in two separate Israeli drone attacks in southern Lebanon. The Israeli army said it killed two extremists of Hizbullah in the attacks.
Qasim said, “Can anyone expect us to discuss the national defense strategy in such a situation when warfare aircraft are flying in our airspace and have been occupied by the southern Lebanon?” This is not a discussion. This is surrender. First Israel should back down and shut down its flights. ”
