Islamabad: Former Prime Minister Imran Khan in jail has refused to talk to Shahbaz Sharif’s government. This has led to the scope of reconciliation between the government and Imran Khan’s party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). PTI leader Omar Ayub Khan has ruled out the possibility of resumed talks between the party and the government. This information was received from a media report on Sunday.
In the National Assembly, PTI leader Ayub told a channel on Saturday, “The chapter of the talks is now closed.” Ayub said that political talks are not only based on desires but it requires strong commitment and The government failed to showcase so. Condemning the approach to the coalition government’s talks, the senior PTI leader said that his party’s committee had started a discussion with goodwill. Ayub’s comment has come at a time when talks between PTI and the government have come to a standstill, which began in late December after an increased political tension.
