Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan said that he is facing the most rigorous jail punishment in the history of the country. 72 -year -old Imran, who has been convicted in many cases, has been lodged in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail since August 2023. In a post on his official ‘X’ account, he said, “I am only serving the most difficult jail sentence of history for the honor of the Constitution and service to the country.”
Imran alleged that he was facing harassment and dictatorship. He claimed, “The water given to me to take a bath is so dirty and contaminated that it is not worth the use of any human being.” The founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf said that books sent by his family have been stopped for months, and they have also been denied television and newspaper facilities. He told, “I was spending time after reading old books repeatedly, but now my reach has been stopped to them.”
Imran said that no leader of Pakistan had to face such a harsh behavior as he is suffering. He compared his situation to former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who was given all the facilities in jail despite being guilty in corruption cases. Imran also alleged that his wife Bushra Bibi, who is away from politics and innocent, is also facing inhuman conditions in jail.
He claimed that all his basic human rights are being violated and they are not being provided minimum facilities to general prisoners, which are the right of every prisoner under the law and jail rules.
