Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has decided to hear the petitions of former Prime Minister Imran Khan in jail on Friday. Information about this has been given on Tuesday in media reports. Imran Khan filed a petition to demand a judicial inquiry into the May 9 violence and the alleged rigging in the general elections held last year.

A five -member constitutional bench will hear hearing

According to the news of ‘The Express Tribune newspaper’, a five -member constitutional bench will hear the petitions of Imran Khan, headed by Justice Aminuddin Khan. Imran Khan filed a petition in December 2024 to investigate the violence of May 9.

Violence erupted

Significantly, Imran Khan was arrested by paramilitary Rangers on May 9, 2023 from Islamabad High Court premises. After this, violent protests erupted in Pakistan. Imran’s supporters vandalized several military establishments including Jinnah House (home of Lahore Corps Commander) and ISI office at Faisalabad.
