Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been awarded the highest civilian honor of Cyprus today. Cyprus President Nicos Christodolidase awarded him the ‘Grand Cross of the Order of Makaros III’, which is the country’s biggest honor. This honor has been given for strengthening bilateral relations and his contribution to global leadership.
Regarding the highest honor of Cyprus, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “For the Grand Cross of the Order of Makaros III, I greet you (President of Cyprus), Cyprus Sarkar and Cyprus. Kutumbakam’s ideology is an honor. I understand its importance as a responsibility and take it in that sense.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was given a grand welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan in Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus. He has arrived on a two -day official visit on the invitation of Cyprus President Nicos Christodaulides. This tour is also special because it is the first Cyprus visit of an Indian Prime Minister in the last twenty years.
