Peshawar: A tragic accident occurred on Monday in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the restive north-western province of Pakistan. Here the children picked up the bomb thinking it was a toy, after which it exploded. At least three children, including two real brothers, died due to the bomb explosion. The incident took place in Jani Khel area of Wazir subdivision of Bannu. According to local sources, the children were returning home from the madrasa when a mortar shell exploded and three students, including two brothers, were killed.

According to the information, the mortar shell was lying in a deserted area. The children picked it up thinking it was a toy, after which there was a massive explosion. In the past too, many children have lost their lives in this manner. What the children thought was a toy, turned out to be an explosive device upon investigation. Such incidents are mostly being reported in North-Western Pakistan only.

Meanwhile, let us also tell here that such mortar shells were dropped by the Soviet Army in the 1980s to use them as weapons against the people who opposed their invasion in neighboring Afghanistan.
