Lieutenant General Mohammad Asim Malik
There has been a tense atmosphere between India and Pakistan since the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Meanwhile, in the midst of war with India, Pakistan has appointed Lieutenant General Mohammad Asim Malik as the new National Security Advisor ie ASA. Malik was made the head of Inter Services Intelligence i.e. ISI in October 2024. According to the notification of the Cabinet Division on Tuesday, General Malik has been officially given the responsibility of NSA.
This happened for the first time in the history of Pakistan
The notification stated, “Lieutenant General Mohammad Asim Milak DG ISI will take over the additional charge of National Security Advisor with immediate effect.” He is the 10th NSA of Pakistan, but this is the first time that an existing ISI chief has been given the responsibility of working together on both important positions. The appointment is amid increasing tension with India, especially after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April, in which 26 people were killed. Let us know that the post of NSA was vacant since April 2022, when the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government was removed. At that time, Dr. Moeed Yusuf was NSA.
Tension between India and Pakistan
Please tell that 26 people died in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Meanwhile, the Indian Army has been given free hand and several meetings were held by the Government of India. There is a stir in the Pakistan administration about this. India’s strict response after the Pahalgam attack has made both the military and civil leadership of Pakistan restless. In response, Islamabad has deployed officials in major international capitals.
