Trump’s remarks came after a visit to the US for a trade talks with Industry and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal for his business talks with his American counterpart Howard Lutnik. Trump has criticized the high fee levied by India for the third time this week.
Earlier on Thursday, Trump said that India is a very high fee country and reiterated that retaliation on countries levying US goods will be applicable from April 2.
Addressing the joint session of the Congress on Tuesday, Trump criticized the high fees levied by India and other countries and termed them as ‘very unfair’. This was the first joint session in the Congress of Trump’s second term.
Addressing MPs from Washington, Trump announced that the counter duty would be implemented next month. In the past, Trump has called India ‘Tariff King’ and ‘great misconduct’.
