India-Malaysia Security Dialogue: Raja Dato Nushirwan bin Zainal Abidin, Director General of the National Security Council of Malaysia, is on a visit to India. Meanwhile, the first India-Malaysia security dialogue was co-chaired by India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Malaysia’s National Security Council Director General Raja Dato Nushirwan bin Zainal Abidin. During the security talks, many important issues were discussed between India and Malaysia.
There was also discussion on terrorism and radicalism
During the security talks, both sides exchanged views on global and regional security. During this, the ongoing bilateral cooperation in security, defense and maritime sectors was also reviewed. Both sides agreed to deepen cooperation in counter-terrorism, counter-radicalism, cyber security, defense industry and maritime security. Both sides also discussed enhancing cooperation in exploration of important minerals and other matters. It was also agreed between the two sides that annual meetings would be organized so that the dialogue process could continue.

India-Malaysia bilateral relations strengthened
The foundation of India-Malaysia security dialogue has been laid by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Malaysian Prime Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Ibrahim visited India in August 2024 on the invitation of PM Modi. During this visit, there was discussion on further broadening India-Malaysia bilateral relations. During this, both the leaders had also agreed to strengthen bilateral security cooperation.
