Islamabad: The Shanghai Cooperation Summit (SCO) meeting concluded today in the capital of Pakistan. Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar was also present here. During this, major documents of SCO were signed by all the member countries. India made a positive and constructive contribution to these discussions. India focused on developing dialogue on the idea of ​​One Earth, One Family, One Future. Talked about promoting initiatives like the SCO Startup Forum, SWG on Startups, Innovation and Traditional Medicine, which was welcomed by SCO members. With India’s efforts, DPI and digital inclusion will also now become part of the SCO cooperation framework. SCO is taking inspiration from Mission Life to achieve UNSDGs. India encouraged SCO to promote the use of climate-resilient and nutritious grains like millet to promote global food security and nutrition. India stressed adherence to the goals and principles of international law, the UN Charter and the SCO Charter to maintain fair and balanced connectivity projects in the region. The focus was on re-emphasizing a rules-based, non-discriminatory, open, fair, inclusive and transparent multilateral trading system with the WTO at its core. Protectionist actions, unilateral sanctions and trade sanctions that undermine the multilateral trading system and hinder sustainable global development were opposed. India congratulated Russia on assuming the next Chairmanship of the SCO CHG.
