US President Donald Trump
There is an election atmosphere in America. Presidential elections are to be held in the first week of next month (5 November). There is a phase of rhetoric going on in America during the election campaign. Former US President Donald Trump on Thursday alleged that among all the major countries, India imposes the highest tariff (tax) on foreign products. Donald Trump said this while talking to members of the Detroit Economic Club.
Republican Party presidential candidate Trump said that if he is elected the next President of America, he will implement a similar tax. Accusing India of its high tariff rates, Donald Trump said, ‘Perhaps the most important element of my plan to make America exceptionally prosperous again is reciprocity. This is a word that is very important in my plan because we generally do not impose tariffs.
During his economic policy speech Trump stressed that the US generally does not impose tariffs. This process was started earlier. It was great. This tax is especially effective with vans and small trucks. Trump also said that China imposes 200 percent tariff. He described Brazil as a country that imposes big tariffs.
According to PTI, the former US President said that the biggest charger is India. Citing Harley Davidson’s business experience with India, he said that India is a huge charger. America has very good relations with India. Were theirs too. Especially with Modi.
Trump said that Narendra Modi is a great leader. He has done a great job. Trump once again insisted that they probably charge the same fee. Trump reminded that when Harley Davidson had approached India, India had asked the company to build its plant there to avoid high tariffs. Now they do their business with India.
