US President Donald Trump has said that it is so “great success” to talk to India and Pakistan and bring them back from the verge of (full war) that they will never get proper credit for them.
He said that there is “great hatred” between the two countries and the stress had reached the level where the next stage was probably “atomic”.
Trump said in an interview with ‘Fox News’ on Friday, “It is my big success that I will never get proper credit for this. They are big nuclear powers. There is no equality at all. They were angry.” During the interview, Trump was asked to mention “Some successes of foreign policy” before his visit to West Asia, whether he had called India and Pakistan. Trump replied, “Yes, I did it.”
The interviewer said that this is a success. Trump said, “Did you see in which direction this (struggle) was going? It was like a tit. It was deepening. I mean the use of missiles was increasing. Both are strong. The two are strong. So the phase on which it was going to reach the next, you know what he is? ‘
The interviewer asked whether the word ‘N’ means ‘nuclear’ (atomic)? Trump said, “This is the word ‘n’. It’s a very bad word, isn’t it? The word N used in many ways, the worst thing can be the worst thing. I think they were very close. He was very close. I said.
“I am using business to equalize and establish peace,” Trump said. Trump said, “India … is one of the highest charge countries in the world, they make the business almost impossible. Do you know that they are ready to cut their fees 100 percent for America?”
There has been no response from India on this issue. When Trump was asked if the deal with India was going to happen soon, he said, “Yes, it will happen soon. I am in no hurry. See, everyone wants to deal with us.” Trump said, “South Korea wants to make a deal … but I do not want to deal with everyone. I am just going to set the boundary. I will do some more deals. There are 150 countries that want to deal.”
This is the seventh time in the last few days when Trump has claimed that he helped to end tension between India and Pakistan. India had attacked terrorists’ bases under the ‘Operation Sindoor’ on the morning of May 7 in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April. 26 people died in the Pahalgam terrorist attack.
After India’s action, Pakistan tried to attack Indian military bases on May 8, 9 and 10. After this, the Indian Army attacked several Pakistani military establishments. After four days of drone and missile attacks from across the border, it was agreed to end the military conflict between India and Pakistan on 10 May. Trump announced on May 10 that India and Pakistan had agreed to “complete and immediate ceasefire” after “long talks” in the US mediation.
