During this time, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who visited Islamabad, has appealed to India and Pakistan to “take restraint”. Pakistan’s Foreign Office said in a statement that Araghchi, in a conversation with his Pakistani counterpart Mohammad Ishaq Dar, discussed the current situation in South Asia and agreed that complex regional issues could be resolved only through talks. Araghchi also met Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari and discussed matters related to bilateral interests along with regional situation. According to a statement issued by the President’s Office, during a meeting with President Zardari, Araghchi called upon both sides to restrain to reduce tension in the area.
Iran said-we will try to reduce stress
The statement said that Zardari reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to dialogue and diplomacy. According to the news of Iran’s official news channel ‘Press TV’, Araghchi said after reaching Islamabad, “The situation in the region is very important for Iran and we emphasize the importance of reducing stress and call on all sides to restraint and prevent the situation from deteriorating.” He said, “We will try to reduce tension in the area.” According to the news of Iran’s semi-autonomous news agency ‘Meher News’, Araghchi said, “Both India and Pakistan are friendly countries of Iran. Of course, Pakistan is our neighboring country with our friendly relations. But we were interested in getting information about our friends’ stance in Pakistan before visiting India.”
“Dar” scared of India’s possible attack

According to the news of ‘Radio Pakistan’, Dar expressed “serious concern” from Pakistan on the tension prevailing in South Asia and blamed India’s “provocative behavior” on the stress prevailing in South Asia.
