The Indian Embassy has issued security warnings for Indian citizens living in California and other western coastal states of California and US after a earthquake of 8.8 intensity at Kamchatka, Russia on 30 July, Wednesday morning. After this terrible earthquake, there is a threat of tsunami in many parts of the Pacific Ocean, due to which emergency services have been placed on high alert.
Posting on the social media platform X, the Indian Consulate General in San Francisco wrote, “We are monitoring the potential tsunami threat after an 8.7 magnitude earthquake.” Indian citizens living in California, other western coastal states and air are advised to be vigilant.
The embassy has advised Indian citizens to focus on the advice of American officials, local emergency management and US tsunami warning centers. Along with this, it is advisable to go to high places, stay away from coastal areas, make emergency preparations and keep their equipment charged when the tsunami warning is issued.
