Mohammad Yunus Chief Advisor of Interim Government in Bangladesh
New Delhi/Dhaka: The whole world has seen how minorities were targeted during the violence in Bangladesh. However, now the tone of Mohammad Yunus, the chief advisor of the interim government in Bangladesh, seems to be changed. Yunus has said that any constitution amendment in the country will maintain religious freedom and minority rights. He said that minorities in Bangladesh will also take advantage of rights like majority Muslim population.
What else did Younus say?
Yunus, the head of the interim government of Bangladesh, said this during a meeting with the US Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) President Stephen Shike. According to Younus’s official social media handle, he said, “We are working very hard for religious harmony in the country.”
Younus’s attitude
The thing to be seen here is that Yunus Tevar is now loosening amidst the political upheaval in Bangladesh. Inflation and unemployment in the country are at its peak and Yunus is proving to be completely failed to handle Bangladesh. Army Chief General Waqar Uch Jaman has also increased political mercury by preferring elections in the country. Meanwhile, Younus has also made it clear that he will not be on the chair after 30 June next year.
Things are deteriorating in Bangladesh
The situation in Bangladesh is tense and anger is clearly visible among the people against the policies of the Yunus government. Things can change at any time in many cities including Dhaka. Shaukat Aziz Russell, a leader of a major business community, has already said that traders in the country are being killed in the same way as intellectuals were killed in the 1971 liberation struggle.
