Donald Trump (L) Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei (R)
Dubai: America is constantly pressurizing Iran on its nuclear program. Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has made a big statement. Araghchi has said that he will meet US Ambassador to Steve Witchoff in Oman for the first talks under the Trump administration. Araghchi said on Iran’s official television during a visit to Algeria that the talks would be indirect and there is a possibility of Oman’s intermediaries between the two sides.
What did Iran’s Foreign Minister say?
Iran’s Foreign Minister said, “Our main goal in talks, naturally to restore people’s rights and remove restrictions and if the other party has willpower, it can be achieved.” He said, “At this time we have made indirect talks, we have no plans to change it.”
‘Trump said direct conversation’
Earlier, President Donald Trump announced on Monday that there would be a direct conversation between Iran and the US. Both the US and Israel have threatened Iran a military attack on its nuclear program. Tehran has spoken about retaliation in response to the attacks.
Trump has warned
Meanwhile, let me tell you here that Trump even warned Iran that if the conversation is not successful, Iran would fall into a ‘big danger’. Trump said in response to a question, “I don’t like to say this but Iran is going to be very dangerous (when the talks failed).” Trump said, “If the talks are not successful, I think it will be very bad for Iran.”
