Israel Air Strikes In Syria

Beirut: 11 people were killed in an Israeli airstrike on the outskirts of the Syrian capital Damascus. A war monitoring organization has given information about this. Israel continues to target Syrian weapons and military infrastructure even after the ouster of former President Bashar al-Assad from power. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a British monitoring group, said the airstrike targeted an arms depot of Assad’s army near the industrial city of Adra, northeast of the capital.

Israel did not give any statement

The monitoring group said at least 11 people, mostly civilians, were killed in the attack. Beirut-based pan-Arab al-Mayadeen TV also reported the airstrike, but put the death toll at only six. The Israeli military did not comment on the airstrike on Sunday.

Israel should stop attacks

Meanwhile, Syrian rebels, who ousted Assad from power by attacking in early December, have demanded that Israel stop its airstrikes. On the other hand, Turkish-backed Syrian rebels launched an attack near the strategically important northern border town of Kobani, which is under the control of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), after weeks of clashes.

The SDF shared a video of the rocket attack, which it said destroyed a radar system south of the city of Manbij, which the Turkish-backed group captured earlier this month. Meanwhile, Syrian state media said a mass grave had been found near the third-largest city of Homs. (AP)
