Javi Kogan murdered in UAE.
An Israeli citizen has been murdered after being kidnapped in the United Arab Emirates. Rabbi Zvi Kogan, the emissary of Abu Dhabi-based Chabad, was kidnapped in downtown Dubai on Thursday afternoon. Subsequently, on Sunday morning, Emirati authorities recovered Kogan’s body and his family was informed. Now Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed both sorrow and anger over this incident. Netanyahu has said that Israel will take every possible action to punish the accused.
A campaign was launched by the security and intelligence agencies of many countries to find out about Kogan. The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office issued a statement saying that information indicated that the disappearance was a terrorist-related incident. After this, Kogan’s body was recovered on Sunday.
Deceased Kogan was originally from Moldova. He worked with Rabbi Levi Deutschman and other Chabad emissaries for many years to establish and expand Jewish life in the UAE. Kogan was instrumental in establishing the first Jewish education center in the Gulf country. After marriage in the year 2022, Kogan’s wife Rivki also joined him.
