Laos Indian Embassy saves Indians trapped in GTSEZ

Indian Rescued from Cyber Scam Center: Indian Embassy in South-Eastern Asian country Laos has saved 67 Indians trapped in cyber scam centers from Bokeo province of the country. These people were abused in the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone (GTSEZ). Not only this, it was threatened and forced to work. A team of embassy officials went to GTSEZ and completed the necessary procedures with Lao officials. During this time paperwork was also completed so that Indians could leave GTSEZ and go to the Embassy till Viantiyane. Transport facility was provided to Indians from Bokeo to Viantiyane. Arrangements for the residence and food of Indians were also arranged by the embassy.

Ambassador assured to come back safely

India’s Ambassador to Lao PDR Prashant Aggarwal also met everyone to discuss the challenges faced by the youth. He assured everyone’s security and assured full support of the embassy until his safe return to India. He also spoke about further action, including filing a complaint against the cheated agents.

924 Indians have been rescued so far

Currently, the embassy officials are working with Lao officials to complete the withdrawal formalities of Indians. After completion of the formalities, everyone will be able to return to India soon. The embassy has so far saved 924 Indians, of which 857 have already been brought back to safe India.
