Kiev: The ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine seems to be falling in the sour. Russia has fired more than 100 drones on Ukraine at night after the Kremlin dismissed the 30 -day ceasefire proposal. Ukraine’s Air Force has given information about this on Monday. Meanwhile, there has been no response to the challenge of Ukrainian President Volodimar Jailonsky to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin for face-to-face peace talks in Turkas this week by Kremlin.
Thousands of Ukrainian citizens killed in war
The US and European governments have made concerted efforts to prevent the fight. In this war that has been going on for the last three years, thousands of soldiers from both sides as well as more than 10,000 Ukrainian citizens have been killed. Russia’s attacking forces have occupied about twenty percent of Ukraine.

Russia rejected proposals
Later at the end of this week, a major diplomatic developments occurred when Russia dismissed the ceasefire proposal presented by the US and European leaders. Meanwhile, Russia has definitely offered direct conversation with Ukraine on Thursday. Ukraine, along with European colleagues, demanded a ceasefire to accept a ceasefire before holding peace talks with Russia. Moscow has effectively rejected that proposal.

US President Donald Trump insisted on accepting the Russian proposal. Zelancesi went a step ahead and put pressure on Putin by offering a personal meeting among the leaders. In 2022, in the early months of the war, Jailonsky repeatedly called for a personal meeting with the Russian President, but was rejected. Putin and Jailonsky have met only once in 2019. Trump says that hatred between the two sides has made it difficult to pursue peace efforts. (AP)
