Jaishankar is in Germany as part of the second leg of his three-nation visit. He arrived here from Saudi Arabia after attending the ‘India-Gulf Cooperation Council Ministerial Meeting’. Jaishankar wrote on the social media platform ‘X’, “Feel honored to meet Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin today. Gave him personal greetings on behalf of Prime Minister Modi. Looking forward to his visit to India for the Seventh Inter-Governmental Consultation (IGC).” The minister also “held extensive discussions with Chancellor’s Security and Foreign Policy Advisor Jens Plotner.” Jaishankar said, “Our talks focused on preparations for the IGC and important strategic developments.”
Earlier on Tuesday, the Foreign Minister also interacted with foreign affairs and security policy experts organized by the Munich Security Conference in Berlin. Jaishankar said, “The changing global order, security challenges and strategic similarities between India and Germany were discussed.” He also interacted with members of the German Parliament.
