Jordan-Israel border has allegedly shot and killed an Indian citizen by Jordan’s army. The dead person was a resident of Kerala and his relatives have informed about the incident. The deceased man in Jordan has been identified as 47 -year -old Annie Thomas Gabriel from Thumba, Kerala. Let’s know in detail about this incident.

The Indian Embassy in Jordan has shared information about the incident. The embassy wrote on X- “We have come to know about the tragic death of an Indian citizen in unfortunate circumstances. The embassy is in touch with the family of the deceased and is working closely with Jordan officials to transport the remains of the deceased.”

The family of the deceased Gabriel has reported that they received an email from the Indian Embassy on March 1 in which the death of Annie Thomas Gabriel was confirmed. A relative said- “We got an email about Annie’s death from the Indian embassy in Jordan, but no more information was found after that. According to the information, the incident took place on 10 February when Jordan’s soldiers opened fire on the border. Family sources have said that Edison, a relative of Gabriel, has also been shot. However, he has survived and returned home to an injured state.
How did the incident happen?
According to a relative of Gabriel, he had gone out on February 5 as a Christian religious place to Velkani in Tamil Nadu. According to TV reports, Gabriel and Edison were part of a group of four people. He was trying to cross the border of Israel from Jordan with the help of an agent. The four tourists of three months reached Jordan on a visa. Jordan’s army stopped him to the border, but when he was trying to escape, the soldiers opened fire on him. (input language)
