Judge murdered in Iran (symbolic photo)
Tehran: On Tuesday morning, a judge was attacked with a knife in Shiraz city of southern Iran while he was going to his work. Government media has given information about this. In the news of the government news agency ‘IRNA’, the murder has been described as a “terrorist act”.
Unknown assailants are absconding
The news of IRNA said that 2 unknown assailants involved in the incident are still absconding. The news reported that the judge was identified as Handum Bagheri (38), who worked in the city’s judicial department. Bagheri previously worked as an prosecutor in the ‘Rhelushaneri’ court.
Judges have been murdered earlier also
In the ‘Revolutionary’ court, cases related to security and drug trafficking are heard. No group has taken responsibility for immediate attack. There have been cases of murder of judges in Iran before. In January, a person shot and killed 2 judges in Iran’s capital Tehran, who gave death penalty to a large number of rebels in the 80s. (AP)
