Khaleda Jia has come to Bangladesh

Dhaka: Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Khaleda Zia returned home on Tuesday after undergoing treatment for 4 months in London. The party leader hoped that his return would help in the restoration of democracy in the country. Jia went to London on 8 January for better medical care and was admitted to the ‘London Clinic’. The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) president went to her eldest son Tariq Rahman’s house after being discharged from the clinic.

‘Dhaka Tribune’ quoted BNP Media Cell member Sareul Kabir Khan as saying that Qatar’s royal air ambulance took place at Hazrat Shahzal International Airport at 10:42 am with Khalida and people who came with him. His two daughters -in -law – Tariq Rahman’s wife Zubaida Rehman and late Arafat Rahman Koko’s wife Saeeda Sharmila Rahman were with him. The aircraft left from Heathro Airport in London at 4:20 pm local time. According to Khaleda Professor AZM Zahid Hussain, Tariq went to the airport and sent him off.

BNP leaders reached the airport

79 -year -old Khaleda, who has been a three -time Prime Minister of Bangladesh, has long been suffering from liver cirrhosis, kidney disease, heart disease, diabetes and arthritis. Meanwhile, BNP General Secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam along with several senior leaders of the Alamgir party arrived at the airport to receive Khaleda. Speaking to reporters at the airport, Fakhrul hoped that the return of party president Khaleda Zia would help in the restoration and progress of democracy in the country.

People welcomed

BNP leaders and activists gathered on the pavement on the path from ‘Airport Road’ to ‘Gulshan Avenue’ to welcome Khaleda Jia. BNP supporters had started gathering on both sides of the 10 km long route from morning. He was holding national and party flags to welcome him when Khaleda returned. (Language)
