Amid deteriorating diplomatic relations between India and Canada, the Canadian MP has shown a mirror to the Trudeau government. On the recent diplomatic dispute between the two countries, MP Arya said that the biggest reason for the continuation of Khalistani extremism in Canada is the political protection given to these extremists. He said the only way to address our concerns in this matter is for all Hindus in Canada to raise their voice against these separatists and hold accountable any politicians who are with them.
The Indian-Canadian MP representing Nepean in the House of Commons of Canada said in his video message that all of us (Canadian Hindus) should come together to ensure that our interests are protected.
Foreign interference is not acceptable in the country – Arya
Clarifying his position in the India-Canada diplomatic dispute, Arya said that I want to make it clear that any kind of foreign interference on Canadian soil is not acceptable. But we have to understand that the problem of Khalistan is essentially a Canadian problem. We and our government have to adopt a comprehensive process to stop this extremism. He said that Khalistani militants in our country continuously target journalists and try to incite religious sentiments against Hindus.
Emphasis on working with India
Talking on extremism and terrorism, Arya stressed the need for international cooperation with India and said that we have to recognize all the growing cross-border threats due to Khalistani extremism and try to deal with them with determination. Today, the biggest reason for the increasing courage of Khalistani extremists in our country is the political protection they receive. He said that today our politicians attend rallies glorifying terrorists which is condemnable and they should not do so. Arya said that political leaders in this country should not encourage separatist movements, especially should not stand with those who advocate violence or engage in violence.
After the killing of Khalistani extremist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in September last year, diplomatic relations between India and Canada have been witnessing a steady decline. On Monday, relations between India and Canada had reached their worst phase. India had ordered Canadian diplomats to leave the country, while Canada had recalled its diplomats citing their safety. India termed the allegations of murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar as absurd and a part of vote bank-inspired politics. New Delhi has said that the main issue between the two countries is Canada’s exemption of pro-Khalistan elements operating from its soil.
