New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi suddenly called Britain’s King Charles III on Thursday and talked to him for a long time. During his conversation with Charles III, the Prime Minister reiterated his commitment to further strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and the UK. Reiterated commitment to strengthen India-UK relations. “Exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, including Commonwealth, climate action and stability.” The Prime Minister said, “Wished him (Charles III) good health and well-being.” Meanwhile, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO ) said in a statement that Modi, in his conversation with Charles III, recalled the historical relations between the two countries and reiterated his commitment to further strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between India and Britain.

The PMO said they exchanged views on the recently concluded Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Commonwealth of Nations and Samoa. During this, both of them also discussed many topics of mutual interest including climate action and sustainability. “The Prime Minister appreciated King Charles’s continued advocacy and initiatives on these issues and briefed him on a number of initiatives taken by India,” the PMO said.
