Bangladesh’s Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retired) Mohammad Jahangir Alam Chaudhary said on Saturday that Indian citizens living illegally in the country will be sent back through proper diplomatic mediums. According to the news agency Bangladesh Samvad Sanstha (BSS), the advisor made this comment after inaugurating the third temporary border post in Satkhira.
Chaudhary claimed that Bangladesh believes in solving issues through diplomacy. He said, “Bangladesh has always followed international laws and protocols.”
He said, ‘The Ministry of External Affairs has already written a letter to India in this matter. Foreign Affairs advisor Tauheed Hussain and National Security Advisor and high representative of Chief Advisor on Rohingya Affairs Khalilur Rahman are maintaining diplomatic dialogues on this issue. ‘
He said that India has been informed that if a Bangladeshi citizen is living illegally in India, it should be sent back through proper means. He said that similarly, if an Indian citizen is found to be living in Bangladesh without permission, he will be sent back after legal procedures.
