Fugitive businessman Nirav Modi has suffered another setback. His bail plea in London has been rejected once again. Nirav Modi has been in the UK jail for six years. Meanwhile, he has filed a bail petition several times, but his bail petitions have been dismissed. The latest bail plea filed by Nirav Deepak Modi was rejected by the High Court of Kings Bench Division in London on Thursday.

The lawyer of the Crown Prosecution Service strongly opposed the bail arguments. A strong CBI team of investigation and law officials was sent to London to help the lawyer of Crown Prosiction Service. The CBI successfully defended the arguments, which dismissed the bail petition.

Nirav Modi’s 10 bail petitions rejected

Nirav Deepak Modi is in the UK jail since 19 March 2019. Nirav Modi is a fugitive economic criminal, who is wanted for trial in India in the CBI’s bank fraud case for fraud of Rs 6498.20 crore from Punjab National Bank. His extradition has already been approved by the High Court of UK in favor of the Government of India. This is his 10th bail petition since being detained in the UK, which the CBI successfully defended through the Crown Prosecution Service, London.

Time in Nirav Modi coming to India

Nirav has been in London jail for nearly six years after losing the extradition battle to face fraud and money laundering allegations in India and is on remand until a “confidential” process results. On 27 February, a UK court said that the “confidential” process related to Nirav Modi, which prevented extradition, is unlikely to be completed soon. Justice David Bailey had said that India -born businessman denied criminal allegations and has not been convicted. He had said, “He is on remand until the results of the ‘confidential” process are expected to run by the end of 2026. It is unlikely to end soon. ”It is believed that it refers to an application for shelter in Britain, but only indirect references have come in the UK courts so far.
