Damascus: Information about a major attack on Syria’s Palmyra city is coming to light. 36 people have died in this attack. According to AP report, Syrian rebels have infiltrated into Aleppo city after detonating 2 car bombs. Syrian rebel groups have claimed on Telegram that they have captured more than 40 military bases of the Syrian government. They have succeeded in capturing many villages of Aleppo city in just a few hours. In 2020, with the help of Turkey, an agreement was reached between the rebels and the Assad government, which reduced major attacks there.

This is how the civil war started in Syria

The civil war in Syria started with the Arab Spring in 2011. Democracy supporters started protests against the dictatorial government of Bashar al-Assad, which has been in power in Syria since 2000. After this, a rebel group named Free Syrian Army was formed. With the formation of the rebel group, the civil war in Syria started. This conflict increased further after America, Russia, Iran and Saudi Arabia joined it. Meanwhile, terrorist organization ISIS had also spread its foot here.

More than 3 lakh people died

After the ceasefire agreement of 2020, only sporadic clashes have taken place here. According to the United Nations report, more than 3 lakh people were killed in the decade-long civil war. Apart from this, lakhs of people had to be displaced.
