New Delhi: There has been a huge economic crisis in front of Maldives. The condition of Maldives is now going to be like Pakistan and Sri Lanka. In such a situation, amidst the increasing economic crisis of Maldives, India said on Friday that it is in close contact with the island country about the situation. The pressure on the economy of Maldives is increasing, due to the debt crisis.
Indian Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said on a question, “We are in constant touch with him about the situation before the Maldives officials.” Jaiswal also mentioning some of the recent agreements by the Maldives government. Said that there is a possibility of revenue loss from them and this is a matter of concern. He said, “We must definitely keep this in mind while making our policies.”
On a question regarding the upcoming dialogue between the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Jaiswal said that India hopes that all agreements will be honored mutually agreed. Director General level talks between BSF and BGB are to be held in New Delhi from 17 February to 20 February. Jaiswal said, “We hope that all compromise memorandum and agreements with mutual consent will be respected. These border security forces form the basis of solid engagement and facilitate mutually beneficial security and construction of business infrastructure on the border. (Language)
