Mamata Bnerjee Oxford University Speech: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee addressed students and teachers on Wednesday at Cellog College, Oxford University. In his speech, she discussed national unity, women empowerment and achievements of the Government of Bengal. ‘I want to see the country united’
Mamta Banerjee said in her address, “I want to see the country united before I die. Swami Vivekananda had said, solidarity is power and if separated, we will become weak.” He expressed concern over the growing political and ideological polarization in the country.
‘I can’t discriminate’
Talking about administrative impartiality, CM Mamta Banerjee said, “When I am on the chair, I cannot discriminate against anyone.” Referring to schemes like Kanyashree and Lakshmi Bhandar of the Government of Bengal, he said that his government is providing financial assistance to women and students.

During the program, when an audience questioned the Tata’s Nano project going out of Bengal, Mamata Banerjee replied that it is wrong, “Tata and Cognizants are still working in Bengal.” He tried to lighten the atmosphere by asking to give sweets to the person who asked the question.

A viewer questioned the rape and murder case at the Medical College in Kolkata. To this, Mamta replied, “This matter is not related to politics. This case is with the Central Government and is sub-Judis. Do not do politics here.”

Amid the protest, Mamata Banerjee showed her old picture, saying, “For 30-40 years these people have been trying to kill me. When they fail in it, they protest like this.”

Talking about the industrial and technological progress of West Bengal, Mamta Banerjee said, “Bengal is number one in the country in SME. Now Bengal is going to be a hub of AI. Kolkata was the capital of the country during British rule and is still the cultural capital of India.”
Appeal to Oxford University to open college in India
In her speech, Mamata Banerjee appealed to Oxford University to establish a college in India. He said that “If Oxford University builds a college in Bengal, the government will give it land.”
‘Will not bow down to pressure’
Amidst the protests and sharp questions, Mamta Banerjee said in clear terms, “I can bow my head in front of humans, but will not bend in front of any pressure.”
Kelog College apologizes
The administration of the Calog College apologized to Mamata Banerjee for the protests during Mamata Banerjee’s speech. However, Mamta thanked everyone from the stage and said, “You humiliated me, thank you for this.”
