Tehran: Iran has given a very dreadful punishment to a person convicted for spying for Israeli intelligence agency Mossad. Iranian officials have hanged the detective accused. Government media confirmed this on Wednesday. The person sentenced to death has been identified as Pedram Madani, whose age is said to be 41 years. The Supreme Court of Iran had approved the death sentence, after which he was sentenced to death.
According to Iran’s official news agency Irna, Paderam Madani allegedly visited Israel and met Mossad officials there. The report stated that it provided confidential information about some “sensitive buildings” and infrastructure related places in Iran. These buildings allegedly had important equipment and establishments. According to the report, Madani received payment in foreign currency and cryptocurrency in exchange for this espionage. Citing Irna also claimed that Madani had met Mossad agents at the Israeli Embassy in Belgium from where he got instructions.
This is how arrest
Iranian officials arrested Pedrum Madani in 2020. After the arrest, a detailed investigation was conducted against him and was found guilty of endangering the security of the country and spying for a foreign intelligence agency. Iran’s courts eventually sentenced him to death under treason and espionage. Earlier in April 2025, Iran was also hanged by Iran, who was convicted of conspiring with Mossad and involvement in the murder of a revolutionary guard colonel in 2022 in Tehran. Even at that time, the Iranian government had expressed serious concern about foreign intervention and espionage network. So far, the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad or any other Israeli officer has not reacted to this hanging. (AP)
