Turkey Fire Ski Resort Hotel: 10 people died and 32 others were injured in a fire that broke out in a ski resort hotel located in northwestern Turkey late on Monday night. The injured have been admitted to the hospital. Officials have given information about this. Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said the fire broke out in a hotel restaurant in the Kartalkaya resort in Bolu province. Visuals of the fire shown on television showed the roof and upper floors of the hotel on fire. The cause of the fire could not be immediately known.
People jumped from the building in panic
The state-run Anadolu news agency quoted Governor Abdulaziz Aydin as saying that two people died after jumping from the building in panic. Private ‘NTV Television’ reported in its news that some people tried to come down from their rooms with the help of sheets. Aydin said that 234 guests were staying in the hotel.
Effort to rescue people trapped in hotel
Necmi Kepsetutan, a ski instructor at the hotel, said he was sleeping when the fire broke out. He ran out of the building after the incident. He told NTV television that he then helped evacuate about 20 guests from the hotel. He said the hotel was filled with smoke, making it difficult for guests to find their way out of the fire. “I am unable to contact some of my students,” the ski instructor told NTV television. I hope he will be fine.

Kartalakaya is a popular ski resort located in the Koroglu mountain region, about 300 kilometers east of Istanbul. There are school holidays in Turkey and hotels in the area are usually full during this time. Aydin’s office said 30 trucks and 28 ambulances were dispatched to the scene.
