Islamabad: A massive IED blast targeted a truck carrying Frontier Corps (FC) soldiers in Pakistan, injuring four civilians. Police said on Saturday that the attack took place in Chaman city on Friday. However, it was fortunate that no Frontier Corps soldier was injured in the attack. It was a terrorist attack.
According to Pakistani officials, terrorists used an improvised explosive device (IED) to target the truck carrying FC personnel. However, no FC personnel was injured in this attack. Many soldiers were riding on the truck. In such a situation, a major accident could have happened. “The IED was planted on a motorcycle on the roadside and when the truck passed by, it was detonated by remote control,” he said.
Balochistan condemned the attack
Rabia Tariq, Public Relations Officer of the Office of the Inspector General of Police, Balochistan, also confirmed the incident. He told that this remote bomb was fitted targeting the soldiers. But they all survived. Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind in a statement condemned the blast, calling it a cowardly act. He said that the government is committed to the security of the people and will foil the nefarious designs of anti-peace elements. Terrorist attacks have intensified in various cities of Pakistan in the last few days. (Language)
