Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday congratulated the newly elected Irish Prime Minister Michael Martin and said that he is committed to working together to further strengthen the partnership between India and Ireland.
Martin has been elected Irish Prime Minister for the second time. Martin is one of the longest serving MPs in Dail (the lower house of the Irish Parliament), first selected in 1989.
Modi said on Twitter, “Congratulations to Michael Martin TD on taking over as Prime Minister of Ireland.”
The Prime Minister said, “We are committed to working together to further strengthen our bilateral partnership, which is based on a strong foundation of shared values and deep engagement among people.”
