Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khwaja Asif said that top civilian and military leadership will hold a meeting on Thursday for a proper reply on India’s move to postpone the Indus Water Treaty and cut diplomatic relations.
In view of the Pahalgam terror attack, India made a strong message to Pakistan and made several decisions including a comprehensive cut in diplomatic relations with it, postponing the Indus Water Treaty of 1960 and closing the Attari Outpost.
Asif said in a statement, “A meeting of the National Security Committee will be held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.” He said that “decisions will be taken to give proper answer to the Indian steps.
The meeting will include chief and head cabinet ministers of the three army organs. Such meetings are called on such important occasions when issues related to national security are to be discussed.
In New Delhi, the Cabinet Committee (CCS) headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the Pahalgam terror attack and decided to have a five -point steps regarding Pakistan. 26 people were killed in a terrorist attack on Tuesday in Pahalgam in southern Kashmir.
The CCS has decided that Pakistani citizens will not be allowed to travel to India under the SAARC Visa Rebate Scheme (SVES) and all such visas issued to Pakistani citizens in the past will be considered canceled.
