Chief Advisor to BangladeshMohammedYunus asked China to increase its economic influence in Bangladesh and mentioned that in this regard, the northeastern states of India can prove to be an opportunity.
This comment was obviously made by Younus during a recent four -day visit to China. Its video appeared on social media on Monday.
Yunus said, “Seven states in the eastern part of India are called seven sisters. They are areas surrounded by land from all around. They have no way to reach the sea. ”
He met Chinese President Xi Chinfing during the visit and signed nine agreements with China.
Describing Bangladesh as “the only patron of the ocean” in the region, Younus said that this could be a big opportunity and the Chinese economy can expand.
Sanjeev Sanyal, a member of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Economic Advisory Council, posted this video on ‘X’ and questioned why Yunus mentioned the northeastern region of India.
He said, “It is interesting that Yunus is making public appeal to the Chinese on the basis that seven states of India are surrounded by land. China is welcome to invest in Bangladesh, but what does it mean to be surrounded by land around seven states of India? ”
