Mohammed Yunus
New York: Mohammad Yunus, a key adviser to Bangladesh’s interim government, said the recent student movement in the country was ‘pre-planned’ and had led to Sheikh Hasina’s ouster. Introducing the students at the annual meeting of ‘Clinton Global Initiative’, Nobel laureate Yunus said that the movement was planned against the then Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her party Awami League. Former US President Bill Clinton welcomed Yunus in the meeting.
‘Shook the whole country’
Introducing the Bangladeshi student leaders, Mohammad Yunus (84) said, “These people are considered to be the brains behind the entire revolution. They look like any other young person, you won’t recognize them. But when you see them in action, when you hear them speak, you will tremble. He shook the entire country.” Yunus specifically pointed towards student activist ‘Mahfooz Abdullah’ and said that he was ‘the brain behind this revolution’.
