Deir al-Balah (Gaza Strip): Israeli forces have carried out a massive airstrike on a mosque in central Gaza, targeting Hamas militants. The mosque was completely destroyed in this Israeli air attack. The entire building disintegrated like a heap of mud. The Israeli army carried out this attack early today. During this period at least 18 people died in the mosque. Palestinian medical officials gave this information.
Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital said in a statement that displaced people taking shelter in the mosque near the hospital located in the city of ‘Deir al-Bala’ were attacked. An Associated Press journalist counted bodies in the hospital morgue. Hospital records show that all the deceased were men. Two other men are seriously injured. The Israeli army has not yet commented on the attack on the mosque. According to Palestine’s Health Ministry, the death toll of Palestinians in Gaza due to these latest attacks has now reached close to 42,000. The ministry did not say how many of them were civilians or terrorists, but the dead included many women and children. (AP)
