There are reports of violence against Hindu minorities from Bangladesh. Now a case of kidnapping and then murder of a Hindu leader from Northern Bangladesh has come to light. According to Bangladesh’s local newspaper Daily Star, Bhabesh Chandra Roy, a resident of Basudevpur village in Dinajpur district of Bangladesh, was kidnapped and beaten to death. His body was recovered on Thursday. Bhabesh Chandra Roy was a prominent leader of the Hindu community. He also took over as the chairman of the Birral unit of Bangladesh Puja Udayapan Parishad.
Kidnapped and murdered from home
Bhabesh Chandra Roy was the chairman of the Biral unit of Bangladesh Pooja Udapan Parishad and was known for his active role in the Hindu community. According to police, Roy was abducted by unknown people and brutally murdered him. So far no arrest is reported in this case, the police is engaged in investigation. However, a formal case has not yet been registered by the family. The relationship said that Sapan Rai, son of the deceased Bhabesh Chandra Roy, told ANI that “We are still engaged in our father’s funeral, so they have not been able to register any case yet.
Dead body sent home of murder
Giving information about the case, Sapan Roy said that on Wednesday evening, four people came home by motorcycle and took Dad. He told that a call came exactly half an hour before that, in which it was tried to know whether Bhabesh Chandra Roy is at home or not. After this, four unknown people came and took them. Direct viewers say that he was taken to the next Narabari village and was murdered. Not only this, after the murder, Bhabesh Chandra’s body was sent to his house through a van. After this, when the family took him to the hospital, doctors declared him dead.
Incidents of attacks and violence on Hindu minorities have increased in Bangladesh in recent years. R Human rights organizations have demanded the Bangladesh government to take concrete steps to protect minorities. Bhabesh Roy’s murder has further emphasized these demands. Local people and Hindu organizations have strongly condemned the murder.
