The Indian Ministry of External Affairs said on ‘Operation Brahma’ that the 118 -member ‘Field Hospital’ from Agra will be sent to Myanmar on Saturday. Along with this, an 80 -member NDRF team has also left for Myanmar for relief and rescue operations. This initiative of Indian aid has been prominently printed in the New York Times of the US to offer the most vigor in this Mahayagya of humanity.

More than 1000 people have died so far in the 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Myanmar on Friday. Also, hundreds of people are suspected to be buried in the rubble. Therefore, India has sent its team Myanmar to expedite relief and rescue and search operations and to treat the injured. Relief and Rashad material is also being sent soon. No Indian casualties in Myanmar

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs said that there is no notice of casualties of any member of the Indian community in the earthquake in Myanmar. The Ministry of External Affairs said that India has sent a team of 80 personnel of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) for relief and rescue operations in earthquake affected Myanmar. Under ‘Operation Brahma’, NDRF personnel are being sent with earthquake rescue equipment like strong ‘concrete cutter’, ‘drill machine’, ‘hammer’ etc. to assist the neighboring country.

Team left by 2 Air Force aircraft

India has sent a team of 80 NDRF personnel ‘to Myanmar with two Indian Air Force aircraft from Hindon in Ghaziabad. The relief team is expected to reach there by Saturday evening. ”PK Tiwari of the eighth battalion of NDRF posted in Ghaziabad near Delhi will lead the USAR (urban discovery and rescue) team. The official said that the team is also taking the investigative dogs along. This help of India has been ranked prominently in the major US newspaper New York Times. Buildings, bridges and other infrastructure were damaged due to a fierce earthquake in Myanmar and its neighboring country Thailand on Friday.

India was also the first help in the earthquake of Türkiye and Nepal

India had earlier sent the NDRF team for relief operations during Nepal in 2015 and Türkiye in 2023. Apart from this, India also sent 15 tonnes of relief material on Saturday. The material was sent to the city of Yangon in Myanma via C130J military transport aircraft of the Indian Air Force. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday expressed concern over the situation caused by the huge earthquake in Myanmar and Thailand and said that in this hour of grief, India is ready to provide all possible help to both countries.
