Kathmandu: Pushpakamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, head of the CPN-Maoist Center, said on Friday that pro-monarchy forces should not consider the liberal stance of Nepali people and political parties as their weakness. He warned former King Gyanendra Shah to repeat the same mistake. Prachanda said at a rally in Bhrkutimandap here that the monarchists are trying to terrorize people in the name of restoring the monarchy.
He said, “He burnt houses in Kathmandu during his performance and threw stones at policemen.” Prachanda said, “Do not consider the liberal attitude shown by Nepali people and political parties as their weakness.” He said that the former king has become an ordinary citizen due to his previous wrongdoing. He told Gyanendra not to repeat the same mistake, otherwise he would lose everything. Prachanda said that it would be unacceptable for the Nepali people and political parties to re -establish the monarchy and return on the path of regression.

He also called upon the anti-monarchy and democratic forces to come forward for self-criticism so that people could be taken into confidence. He said, “We will fight against corruption and establish good governance.” Prachanda said that the mistakes that have been made from democratic and republic forces and their weaknesses have come out, they have given the opportunity to the monarchists. Prachanda said, “Corruption has increased, brokers have taken advantage of this and there is chaos in the society, which has become a favorable basis for retrograde forces.” (Language)
