Earthquake
Kathmandu: The land of Nepal trembled due to earthquake in the early hours of today. The intensity of the earthquake has been measured at 4.8 on the Richter scale. According to the information received from the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake that occurred at 3.59 in the morning spread panic among the people. Some people came out of their homes. There is no news of any loss of life or property due to the earthquake.
According to the National Center for Seismology and the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the epicenter of this earthquake was at a depth of 10 km under the earth in Jumla district. However, most of the people were sleeping when the earthquake tremors were felt.
Let us tell you that earthquakes occur frequently in Nepal. An earthquake of magnitude 6.4 occurred here in November last year (2023). There was a lot of loss of life and property due to this earthquake. More than 150 people had died. There was massive devastation in Jarkot and Rukum districts of western Nepal. Many houses were destroyed while many others had cracks.
