New York: Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli held bilateral talks with PM Modi after reaching Lotte Palace Hotel in New York. After this, his first statement has come out. KP Oli said that the meeting was very good. It is believed that various regional, mutual cooperation and other issues were discussed in the bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This is KP Sharma Oli’s first meeting with the Prime Minister of India after becoming the PM of Nepal again. It is expected that after the meeting of the two leaders, steps can be taken towards maintaining and deepening India-Nepal relations.

However, KP Sharma Oli’s image has been that of an anti-India and China lover. Earlier in his tenure, KP Sharma Oli had allegedly spoiled his relations with India at the behest of China. KP Oli had staked Nepal’s claim on India’s Kalapani, Limpiyadhura and Lipulekh regions. This had deepened the tension between the two countries. However, after some time he lost the post of Prime Minister. After this, Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda became the PM. Since then, India-Nepal relations had become stable again. But after KP Oli came to power again, India’s concerns have increased.
