Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina
Dhaka: Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s difficulties are increasing. Now a Bangladesh court issued a new arrest warrant against Sheikh Hasina, her son Sajib Vajed and 16 others. All of them have been accused of corruption. It is accused that other accused, including Hasina, have been involved in the irregularity in the allocation of residential plots on the outskirts of the capital Dhaka.
What did the officer say?
A court official said, “The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge has issued warrants in two cases of irregularities in the allocation of plot in Purvanchal New Town, keeping in mind the charge sheet of the Anti -Corruption Commission (ACC). According to the prosecution, most of the accused were government officials. The court ordered the police that if the former Prime Minister and other accused have been arrested, the report should be submitted on 29 April.
Arrest warrant was issued against 48 people
The official said that Judge Zakir Hussain has directed the officers in charge of more than a dozen police stations in Dhaka and other parts of the country to submit a progress report on the implementation of their order till the respective date. The same court had earlier issued an arrest warrant in connection with alleged illegal land and 48 others in connection with alleged illegal land by misusing political power against Hasina, her daughter Saima Vajd Putul, her sister Sheikh Rehana, her sister Tulip Rizwana Siddiqu, Rehana’s son Radwan Mujib Siddiq and 48 others.
